Web 3.0 Applications
What is Web 3.0?
In 2006, Tim Berners Lee said
“People keep asking what Web 3.0 is. I think maybe when you’ve got an overlay of scalable vector graphics — everything rippling and folding and looking misty — on Web 2.0 and access to a semantic Web integrated across a huge space of data, you’ll have access to an unbelievable data resource…”. (expert.ai, 2020)
A very interesting web 3.0 application is Artificial Intelligence
According to Britannica:
“Artificial intelligence (AI) is the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings. The term is frequently applied to the project of developing systems endowed with the intellectual processes characteristic of humans, such as the ability to reason, discover meaning, generalize, or learn from past experience.”
Chat boxes
In the Web 3.0 AI is used in chat boxes. When you visit a website and none of the website assistance is online, you can chat with the chatbox, an AI powered feature which gives you answers to questions you may have.
Security and Surveillance
AI is also used in security and surveillance. Conspiracy theories state that the US government is using AI on cameras to scan, identify and track people. AI is also used to protect malicious entities (hackers).
My opinion
A great project by corning (an American multinational technology company that specializes in specialty glass, ceramics, and related materials and technologies including advanced optics, primarily for industrial and scientific applications.) is what its called “A Day Made of Glass”.
Let's put security aside. Imagine a world where all of the device are secured enough.
This project by corning is fantastic in aesthetics, design and functionality. They present the use of glass in the everyday life. they merge a basic material with technology and make it very interesting and useful at the same time.
You can watch the video below.
In 2012 they published a second video called “A Day Made of Glass 2: Same Day.”
In this video, they show how their technology can be used in education, medicine and much more.
I hope someday, this project, become reality. It’s a very interesting concept in my opinion.
